The American Board of General Practice utilizes the General Practice Training Program of the American College of General Medicine as an educational resource for the Standard Primary Pathway towards board certification by the American Board of General Practice. In other words, completion of the General Practice Training Program of the American College of General Medicine is required in order to obtain board certification under the Standard Primary Pathway of the American Board of General Practice. Completion of the General Practice Training Program of the American College of General Medicine is not required in order to obtain Board Certification under the Previous Experience Pathway of the American Board of General Practice.
